Hi All. I’ve been getting really irritated by the sat nav in my 2019 X2 (purchased used). I’ve noticed it doesn’t find the best routes. The spoken directions come quite late. And starting a voice activated route guidance is very hit and miss in picking up the destination I’m asking. So I wondered if it needs a sat nav upgrade. I have Connected Services app which shows me that a one year Map Upgrade is available at £79 that I purchase via the app and then follow the instructions to install. Has anyone used this method to map update before and can it be trusted? And if the upgrade is for ‘one year’ does it mean that the map will revert back to a previous old version after 12 months? Or is there any other recommended way of getting a map upgrade (perhaps taking to a dealer?). Not done this before and this is my first BMW. I’m the UK (if that makes a difference to responses).
