oddferk, i hope you did not walk to the wrong car by "mistake" when you wanted to drive again after dropping off the video [hihi]
Haha, I was too dazed by the sight of it. I had my brother drive home. Haha. But before I gave him the keys I told him that a picture of them together MUST be taken. [rofl]

I've come to realize that even though the M3 Cabrio is heavier than the Coupe, I'd still get the cabrio. Maybe with a hardtop. [thumb]

Some of the greatest sports cars are drop-tops. Roadsters are considered to be the truest form of sports car by a lot of poeple. Lamborghini Diablo was offered in a "roadster" form for a while (removable roof). The Ferrari 360 is offered in Modena (coupe) or Spider (convertible). In my opinion, I think a Coupe always looks better than its Convertible version (assuming the convertible's top is up) because the lines are smoother and it has a more aggressive and purposeful stance. But at the same time, it is absolutely priceless to drive a convertible around with the top down. It really all depends on whether it's worth it for you to get a convertible or not. Hopefully, hard-top convertibles will become a more popular concept as it really is a great feature....you get the well-rounded looks and all-weather drivability of a coupe, with the top-down fun of a convertible. You can't lose !! [thumb]

Agree completely, furthermore I would not want a Convertible, if it did not have an appealing hardtop option, I think the hardtop coupe look is nice for winter & really dont like the look of a Rag-top (with the top up).

You know, I can agree with not liking the rag-top look. There are times that I look at my car - or any other cabrios - and hate the way the top looks. I almost wish it had a retractable hardtop like Mercs and all. But there are also times that I don't mind it at all. But eh...[8]

Haha.. she is a babe, I just hate the image E30s have in my city. It's not for sure, but it's a somewhat tarnished image. The majority of E30s I see around me have either been to the streets of Beirut and back, fixed up with horrible taste for aesthetics or just so neglected their sitting on driveways useless. It's sad. But having a red one is a rarity, I like. Haha.

Or another option (albeit not a BMW) the Mercedes SLR hard-top convertible. Top goes up or down in about 20 seconds at driving speeds up to 10mph.

IMHO to be a sports car there shouldn't be a pre-requisite to be a convertible or otherwise. Did y'all hear that Porsche is going to build a hard-top version of the Boxter?

I prefer coupe's for the shear facts that they are more track ready. Even with the roll bars that some cars have on them, a lot of tracks and clubs require that they come up at least 6" above the top of the brain bucket. That is damn near 9" over the top of your head. Besides, a convertible would most definately be the very last vehicle I would want to be in if I was to roll a car. Plus they are heavier.
