beemerworld is spot on in the measurement. that is why in most automotive magazines they will indicate whether their numbers are euro or us.
back when i first joined this board i think the differences in SAE hp and DIN hp was my first question. DIN indicates a european meassurement, and how they measure horsepower is different (only slightly) than how we do in the US. The 343bhp euro m3 and 333 us m3 have exactly the same amount of power. becasue that 343 is DIN.
