I recently purchased a 2002 530i and although I've had it less than a week, I gotta say from first impressions this is the best car I've ever owned. It's amazing how responsive the motor is for a 6 cylinder. And the handling, wow, it hugs the road so well even in the tightest of turns. My only fear is speeding tickets because it's so smooth at higher speeds, I don't realize how fast I'm going until I look at the speedometer or notice how much slower the other cars are traveling.

Even the dealership experience was great. They were very professional and courteous. Talk about a "no hassle" experience.

When I get my digital camera working I'll post some pictures. The car is just so awesome looking. Black exterior with tan leather interior. Great upgraded rims too.

Consider me a *happy* new member of the BMW club!!! :)

(I posted this earlier on another bmw forum not realizing it was for older models)

I'll add some pics tomorrow.

Thanks for the kind words codex and kirby....

A question about kirby's sig: "There are 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't."

10 types, I'm guessing that refers to decimal (base 10) in contrast to binary (base 2). Is that the joke?

Anyway, off to bed. Sadly I have to work tomorrow, good thing is I'll be driving my 530i to get there and back. :)

No, in binary, 10 means 2. The first digit going from right to left stands for 1, and the 2nd digit stands for 2, and then from there on out it's doubled (so 3'd position stands for 4, then 4th stands for 8, then 5th for 16, and so on.) So 10 in binary equals the real number 2. If it was 11 in binary, it would equal 3, or if it said 110 in binary it would equal 6 in real numbers. ALso explains why you buy memory in multiples like 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, etc and why 1 megabyte actually equals 1024.

"No, in binary, 10 means 2." That's all you had to say. :)

Went right over my head. Sad really since I spent 4 years of college with HEX, OCT, DEC, and BIN translations. Compsci, gotta love it!

I didn't know Tate had a BMW dealership. hmm. And the fact that it's in Annapolis blows my mind; every other of their dealerships is in Baltimore.

Yeah, office space rules!
