I have heard of some people paying $42,000 for a 2004 330i with performance package, leather seats, moon roof. I am trying if all possible to get the car under 40,000. I live in Corpus Christi, Tx where there is only one BMW dealership so they usually get what they want. I was thinking about driving to San Antonio or Houston or even Dallas where they have more than one BMW dealership. I feel they will be More competitive. Any thoughts? or advice would be appreciated.

The base is $35200 as of Jan 1 plus Transportation is $695plus BMW vtr $195. Then it depends on the options you want. Leather is $1450, Xenons $700, Steptronic $1275, Fold down rear seats $475, moonrof $1050, metallic paint $475, BMW assist $750, etc. It all adds up quickly. I paid about $1500 under sticker plus a $500 rebate (BMW CCA member) for mine. Here there are only 2 dealers but are both owned by the same owner. In California some dealers are charging as much as $2000 above sticker. Definitely shop around. Oh, and the ZHP pkg is $3900. Including sales tax I don't think you can get under $40K.

Join the military....hahaha I priced the 330i with performance package, You CANNOT get leather on the performance package it is ONLY available with the Alcantara. I was quoted with a delivery price 36,900 us dollars. Bear in mind that I am overseas as a GS Civilian so we get stuff cheaper and tax free. Just an option for ya....How bad do you want the 330i PPG

The leather interior is a stand alone option for the performance pkg but it does not come with a leather steering wheel or shift boot only alcatara. I have grey leather interior in my 330i w/ZHP. Like I said earlier it is a $1450 (sticker) option for US models. Most dealers in the US stock perf pkg cars w/leather interiors (more profit). I have all the options listed in my earlier post plus. Euro models are not available with the ZHP pkg altough you can get the "body appearance" pkg part. Another worthwhile option is the Homelink option. I just purchased and installed the Universal Garage Door Opener panel and control (Homelink) for $140 as oppposed to the dealer wanting $500 installed. It operates garage door, gated community gate, house lights. It has 3 different remote operating buttons. A nice convenience to install yourself. There are all the features available as in other models but they have to be ordered as stand alone options as the premium pkg is not available as such.

The sales tax rate is likely to determine whether you can get under 40K especially if you want some options or if you opt for the soon to be available in April, the 2 dr coupe w/ZHP. The dealers do not want to go below sticker for the 2 dr and there is a wait list for them.

rjp325i, that is nice to know about the leather. The 330i ZHP I priced was a US spec model. We can buy US spec German cars here and ship them home when our tour of duty is up. It will be intersting to see if they try to slam me with the import tax as soon as my boat docks. I have heard some NIGHTMARE stories. I think import tax would add on about 6k to the price of my car and then I might be a little disturbed.
