Is one gas station better than the other in terms of the additive they add ? Is Shell better than Chevron, or Unocal, Texaco etc ? Do you only go to name brand gas stations and not the generic ones ?

Thanks

I go to Costco for 2 reasons. First, it's much cheaper, second, they don't except cash at all so when the gas comes in the big containers on a truck, the guy pay off the driver to put some regular into super and so on. I have this friend who used to be one of those drivers and he said that almost all if not all gas stations he went to, the attendant gave him a 20 or a 50 so that he mixes the gas a little. I don't feel like paying the super price for regular, if you know what I mean. I did hear that Chevron uses some additives but here most stations are leased and because of that the dudes mix the gas a little.

Usually what ever is convenient. The only bad experience I've had was at SAM'S CLUB. They had just opened their pumps and I was at the store, so I gave it a try. Never again - the Explorer (company vehicle) pinged, missed and howled on that tank of gas. After using about 5 gallons I filled it with 92 to give it a boost.

I go to Chevron. Mainly cuz they're the closest and are the cheapest of the name brand ones around me. After they started keeping their stations really clean, I've just stayed. I'll go to 76 and Shell in a pinch tho. Never Arco cuz the ones near me don't accept credit cards. I tried Costco once. Never again. Got literally half the gas mileage I normally got.

I use Exxon whenever possible because I like using my Speedpass. Just wave the wand at the pump, and I don't have to swipe a card or push any buttons. It takes the money from the right account, and it knows I don't want a receipt. When I'm done, I just put the hose back and go.

When I discovered that BMW's fuel injector cleaner was actually Techron, I decided that buying the Chevron gas with Techron already in it couldn't be a bad idea.

The on base bas station....a bit cheaper being on a military installation......25 cents a gallon in the Arab Nations though. I run 91...or 93 Super when I can. Anything over 93 is overkill to me with a unmodded car.[;)]

If it was up to me.......no gas stations out here for Mobil......that is where I would go.[thumb]
