Hello Folks.

Just bought our Son's 2001 325i, 5 speed, sun roof, black sedan. 41000 miles when we bought it. Son had all service and maintenance done be a dealer. I'm wondering about the oil change interval. I know the engine uses synthetic oil and there's a maintenance monitor the when the ignition key is moved to the 1st click, it shows 13,400 inspection miles. When does it show the remaining miles till the next oil change is due?

For an old American Hot Rod/Muscle Car owner, I'm very inpressed with the 325i. Very responsive to steering inputs, sweet engine sound as the rpm increases.

Welcome to the board. MOst members here change their own oil between service indicators, meaning about 7500 miles between changes.

Thanks BD. I assume the dealer would reset the oil change indicator thing a ma jiggie, right? [???1]

Yes when they do the service they will reset the lights, when you do the oill change in between you do nothing to the service indicators.
