Hello everyone,

I recently bought a 2K2 BMW 330i with 21K miles at an auction. To my dismay, I noticed that the OEM tires are seriously worn out. I've been looking for a good set of tires for a couple days now and I'm getting mixed reviews regarding the Bridgestone Potenza RE950, the Dunlop SP Sport A2, among others.

Couple of things to keep in mind:
a. Im an 'average' driver
b. I would like a decent blend of all worlds: handling, treadlife, and comfort
c. I live in NYC, so the tires need to provide good traction in snow

Can you guys shed some light on some really good perf all season tires? thanks in advance for the help!

My best advice is to get a set of snow tires for the winter season. I use Michelin and Toyo on my M3 and have Perellis on my Audi. Out of the three I like the Michelins the best.

I agree. Those "all-season" tires aren't worth buying. I strongly recommend Michelin Pilot Sports for the summer and Bridgestone Blizzaks for the winter.

Hi guys, thx for the advice. I really appreciate it. I actually went to a dealer auction out in Amish country aka Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. I think I got a decent deal on it...paid 28K.

28k isn't bad if the carfax is clean..... I'd say it's a good deal, now that you have a BMW whatever you do DONT TAKE IT TO BMW Manhattan for service, unless you want under the table work done on your car.

[sing] I drive 35,000 miles a year up and down the east coast between Rome New York, Philadelphia Pennsyvania and live in Southern Maryland. I've only driver with All Season radials. The Dunlop 2000 series sucked to no end in snow, however the Dunlop 5000 and the Perilli M&S also proforms excellently on snow and in bad road conditions. I drove back from Rome New York during the height of winter during the last great storm and my All Seasons held the road at high speed on Interstate 81 and 83 in driving snow. I averaged 65 MPH on slick roads. I have never had two sets of tires i.e. Winter/Summer. I did the research and found the best tire for the two worlds that I'm forced to drive in. Do yourself a favor go to TireRack.com and get your own best answer, read the user reports and their driving conditions. That's my two cents, or one and a half cents for what it's worth. Happy Motoring... [driving2]
