I am in Woodland looking for a good place to tint my windows. I had been told there was a place in Davis near the DMV that does a good job. Do you know of this place. Also my 2004 325ci has a blue looking tint now but I want them darker what do you think. Your car looks nice. Thanks Bev

Made this thread for luvmybmw. I'll leave it here for now so she can find it again.

Anyways, haven't been to the place near the DMV. Most people I know who tinted their cars drove out to the Sacramento area to have it done.

I had mine done in SoCal. While I was in Davis when I bought my car, I went down to SoCal to buy it. I left it there b/c my Davis apartment only had a carport and I didn't want all the dust, twigs, etc. blowing all over my brand new car. I'm not quite comfortable getting any work on my car done in Davis, just by eyeballing the places. Ok, I tried the Honda dealership once (ripoff) and that place near the Autozone/KFC/Applebees (it was just ok for my Civic, wouldn't bring teh BMW there).

I'd ask for places in Sacramento. I haven't personally been there, but people have recommended Just Tint in Citrus Heights. I've seen pix and they look good.

In case you wanna check them out.

Oh I am so glad you found my posts. Thanks for posting so I could find it. Anyway I too don't want to trust anyone tinting my windows unless I can find a GREAT place to go. My car is the new Silver color and has a slight blue tint to the windows. I do want them darker though. Thanks for the info I will give them a call. Also I just read a posts that tinting may cause bad radio reception what do you think? Thanks Bev

Good post Richard. [thumb]

If you are in the bay area, there is a place called Mr. Tint in Santa Clara that does excellent work.

Tinting may only affect your radio reception if you get metallic based tint. Doesn't happen to everyone. I think it decreases reception. So, if you're in a place where the radio reception is naturally weak (Davis is such a place), you'll get more static than normal. Just ask if their tint is metallic based or not.
