Ok - you're parked up - your'e in neutral and your car revs on it's own???? No its true - pops up to a thousand revs every couple of seconds!! Anyone tell me why?? Or am I just dense??!!!

Could be one of several things, idle control solenoid, oxygen sensor or a vacuum leak.

No, your're not dense - unless you are pressing the gas pedal when it happens!

No really I have sat Budda style in the driving seat to make doubly sure its not me!!! Now thats dense!! Smeone said something to me about automatic choke? What do you reckon? I don't want to be worrying about it if its not really a huge problem you know? Thanks for replying by the way.

It's not really a major problem. At worst, whatever is causing might make your gas mileage suffer a bit.
