I am big on Oakleys and was wondering how to store them in the car. Since they are wrap arounds it is kind of hard to store them. The car seems limited in storage space?

what kind of oakley's? I have Polarized Square Wires and the Small Vault fits in the map pocket. I keep it in there. Black case with a black interior in the corner means no one can see it in there.

At any BMW dealership you can buy a sunglass visor clip. They are silver and black, and have the BMW logo printed right on front, and run about $4.99. It looks almost like it is supposed to be there. I agree...BMWs have very limited interior storage...especially compared to a MBZ or Volvo!!!

I really like this actually but then I'll lose my cupholders... not a coffee drinker myself but for long trips cupholders come in very handy.
You can put your coffee in the Euro centre console by opening the "door," putting in the cup and then closing the door to hold the cup. Not as convenient as the U.S. cupholders, but it works to an extent. [:D]

that looks like a good idea. How much is that? is it easy to install?

Not to sound like a snob but i rotate my oakleys. I am a bit of a collector of oakley stuff, sunglasses, glasses, shirts, watches, etc.

Ditto- Maui Jim/ visor clip.
I probably would post this on the general chat forum.
If you care about optical quality ditch the Oakley's- a lot of people think the styles look nice, but lenses leave a lot to be desired.

Install is a piece of cake. Just pull out the U.S. console and snap in the Euro one. It took me less than a minute. I bought mine from BMW Bellevue for $40 (after a BMW CCA discount).

Hehehe... but then that means no more spirited driving. j/k [:D] [driving]

Why don't they come up with a console which has the sliding door and the cup holders inside. I just hate the way the cup holders look on the E46... it almost looks like they were there as an afterthought, but poorly implemented. If they just add the sliding door, you can still treat the cup holders as a storage compartment (who says cupholders have to only hold coffee mugs and drinks anyway!?) and close the door, which makes it look clean. Those stupid cup holders remind me of the interior of American minivans. [?|]

In this department I think the Japanese cars really rule.

What is a BMW CCA discount? Mind enlightening me?

Most BMW dealerships and independent BMW shops offer discounts for the members of BMW CCA (BMW Car Club of America). The discount rates vary. I've seen 5 to 15 percent depending upon the place I went to. You can get more info about the membership on their Web site. [;)]

They are a poorly implemented afterthought, IMO. [thumbd]
