Studded snow tires on a 330xi

Greetings:

New to the site as I am just about to purchase my first BMW a 330xi. I live where we get a LOT of snow 450 + inches/ year. So, I want to put studs on the BMW next winter. Problem is according to Big O there are no studded tires for the 205/50-17. Not knowing that much about tires, could I put a different size tire and wheel combo on my car??

I would have thought that, if you get deep snow, you'd want to have skinnier tires - so you don't get as much "float". That way, they cut down through the snow better.

I miss Big O -- They don't seem to exist here in the midwest but I loved them when I was in Idaho. Anyway, they should be able to put you in a 15-16" rim with a studded snow tire using 55's or 60's and still have the same overall diameter.
