some comments on Z4's

hello all, new member here.....just want to see if anybody else out there with Z4's and what they think of it. I purchased mine back in April of 2003 (3.0 auto, with premium package and xenon), I now have 18,000 miles on it.

I must admit, the car looks ten times better in person, look very exotic. Have no problems with it so far....except for a fuel pump recall that BMW dealer told me about and I got that taken care of. Here are some of my likes and dislikes:

Likes
1. exterior looks (especially when you take out the antennae, dealer told me rain wont damage the opening hole)
2. interior looks, clean, stylish...wish it had more techno gadget though
3. Carver stereo system, awesome in Church DSP mode
4. quality materials and leather
5. handling and brakes, even though there is a hollow sound to the steering wheel at low speed
6. steptronic is very precise
7. the growling sound of the exhaust


dislikes:
1. dont have alarm or cd changer yet....cause dealer charge arm and leg for it!!
2. washing the standard 17" wheels for the 3.0....it takes a long time
3. headrest does not tilt forward like ALL the other BMWs
4. the random function for the CD is wierd!! unlike my brothers 325
5. wished it has a little more horsepower or configuration than the 3 series, to make it unique
5. you cant drive anything else now that you have driven the Z4...ok, thats not a dislike

overall, very happy with it, and hopefully everybody with it will share their experience...i never drive it with the top up unless there is a name after the storm!! see you on the road!!!

I wish the rear was just a little bit lower. I like to be able to turn my head and see out the back. I don't like relying on the mirrors so much. I love how you're so low to the ground though. It's got a real nice racing car feel. I agree it does look a lot better in person.

personally, i love those tail lights. Please don't clear them up, like i've seen some people do. It doens't look better onthe z4. The red tails with the amber in the center reminds me of a ferrari. Very sweet.

Personally I love them, they look tougher. Surprised they do not come with a alarm system as standard for the price. Myself, I never buy stock stereo systems, regardless of the car, I find you can buy a better one cheaper all the time and one that you can upgrade. I love the Z4 though.....too bad I need room for the family or would think of getting one. My 328IC is getting pretty small with a growing 8 year old and me being 6'1"
