Relay help on my 6 please.........

Help me please,.....I have a wonderful 6 (love my car) however, I live in the upper desert in so cal and last week my windows stopped working. I do have a sunroof so It's not a sweatbox, but its close.

I have several manuals and I can't find my fusebox in any of them. I know that the fuse box cover has a diagam, but mine didn't come with one.

I'm hoping that my window problem is just the relay, now if I could just figure out which one that is I'd be set.

Does anyone know of a good website that has good information and pictures?

Hi, I'm not too sure about 6er's, but on my E30 there is a little plastic cap on the side of the door, almost right in the middle, and if you pop it off, there should be a hex head staring back at you... shove an allen key(the car should come with one)/male hex socket in there and giv'er a crank... that'll at least get the window down for some air. (if you have the little plastic cap (I also don't know what year we're talking about)). I'm not sure about fuses and relays in that car. Might just be the motor crapping out on you. I'll see what I can find out.

Okay, supposedly your looking for relay K9 but if your sunroof works, and your other window works, then I don't think it's the relay, (or the circuit breaker switch) because both your windows and the SR should be on the same circuit. Give it a manual crank if you can, just to give 'er a head start, and if that doesn't get the motor going, I'd bet that the motor has gone south.

... also, if you need a manual, I don't think there is one for 6er's, but there is one for 5er's and they should be pretty much the same car.

Thanks, yes i do have the cap and thats a great idea to manually lower the window, and yes my sunroof still works. the problem is ALL my windows are not functioning. All 4 are inoperable. thats what led me to believe that it may be the relay.

oh, all your windows don't work! I'm going to assume you've found the fuse, and checked it, and that it's okay... if you don't know which fuse, pull them all one at a time and check them manually. (remember about the anti-theft code for your radio) . If it's not the fuse, and your circuit breaker on your dash isn't "up" (showing red), then I'd bet the farm that it's the relay. However, I still don't know which one. Maybe call a dealer and get them to fax you over a copy of the fuse box layout.

OK.....now I know that this is going to sound extremely ignorant, however............what circuit breaker on my dash? I thought that from the looks of the wiring diagram I have that this would be located somewhere under...there, or maybe closer to there, but on the dash?
geeze.......I miss my 2002.

Maybe you don't have one... it's basically a child safety for the windows.
