RADIO FM Messed up.

I have a 528i 1997 and the radio goes in and out. I am trying to find out what to do rather than paying an "arm and leg" to go to the dealership. Any advice?\

it could be a lose harness thats causing it to turn off and on.

By in and out do you mean the reception, or the electric aerial? If it is reception check the aerial connections behind the radio and then at the aerial itself. If it is the aerial it may be a loose earth or loose power connection.
