Hi!

Any special recommendations about polishing, like wax types and brands (for metallic colors), how often, what to avoid, etc?

Best wax on the market is Zaino kit. Can be pretty expensive and you can only get it online. I usualy use mainly meguiars (spelling?) products out of loyalty and the mere fact that i cannot afford Zaino. As far as leather conditioning goes I would not use anythign else other than leatherique (only online for about $50-$75). Most products produce less than satisfactory leather conditioning.

I agree with leatherique. I really like the way my car seats feel after using it.

I just recently started using Griots Garage paint sealant and spray on wax and really like the results on my silver car. They say it'll last a almost a year but the jury is out here. P21S is another great product that produces wonderful results.

I have been a loyal Zymol user for years! I even use their leather cleaner/conditioner products. I have no complaints with Zymol, although it is a Carnauba wax and does require work to apply and more than one application per year. But than again I enjoy working on my car! Zymol

Thanks for the information!

When I bought it, the dealer (an Audi dealer) mentioned that it should be polished maximum twice a year, not more. Does it make sense to you? What would the limit be, if there is any?

He may be correct, polish is slightly different than wax. I polish mine only when it needs it, I can usually tell by swril marks, rubbing my hand over the surface it feels rough (as compared to wax smooth), etc., usually once a year. I wax my car three to four times a year.
