hi, guys

I got a Question
I would like to buy a Bmw E36
The older version sinds 91

So i was wondering what car had the most performance
The 318is with 140 HP or the 320i with 170hp

it might be a stupid question but my couzin said the 318is go's faster then the 320 [80?]

Thx

I see some mundane detail that (I think) makes a slight difference. A 318iS versus just a 320i. Also, if the 318is is a manual vs. the 320i being a automatic, I can see a 318is having better performance. Especially if the two are pitted against each other on some twistier roads; I definitely think the coupes handle noticeably better than the 4-doors for the e36 generation.

Also, the e30 318's have a 4 cyl engine whereas the 320's have a 6-cyl. If this is the same with e36's, then the 318 will rev faser being a four, and so be just as peppy off the mark and around town, but the 320 will have longer legs, and more torque for that ever-important 80-120km/h time.

e30 318's are very closely matched to 320's esp. for town driving even though there is some hp discrepancy.

Thx guys sounds like there isn't so much diffrence between the 2
I don't know how fast a 318iS go's to 0-62mph but i'm also thinking about the insurance
cuz in belgium insurance as a 18 year old driving a 140hp car is not really cheap :)
I would like to buy one but i'll just have to wait a little while :( and see ofcourse if it's possible

thanks ;)

Get the coupe man, They look better and even it has a smaller engine and less HP it still should be faster or maybe same, I smoke 328i with my 325Is. 2 extra doors adds alot of weight. And S models might have faster trnasmision too, since they are sport. But hey man, they will both be slow. Get an E30 M3 ;)
