Dinan is a total waste of money as compared to the alternatives. Mark D (Dsylvia-Tech), Conforti, and one other I'm forgetting about are the good chips.
Actually the great majority of people would agree the chip raises gas mileage. Mine went up 1 mpg, and that was while driving the car harder. The chip simply allows the engine to run more efficient.

I bought my Dinan software upgrade (very well worth it in the roadster) from an authorized dealer. I bough my JC Chip for the 318 (and I tried a Dinan in it first, JC performed better in this case) from Bimmerworld .
EPJ3, although I have heard many stories, I think many chip users are just overly happy about their product. If you look at the basic principles of how a chip works, it's maximizing the use of higher octane BUT still putting more gas into the engine. The basic dynamics say it's going ot use more gas.

They have evrythign you need in nice packages. They also sell Shrick cams. They custom program their own chips and make some of the best chips around. Look at them> I suggest you save your money and do a lot of mods at once if you are working on the negine in order for them to custom produce or give you the best chip possible. Check the website and give them a call also. They are really helpful!
