Just bought my 95 540i, WOW, I luv it, got some rotor warpage and some
tires that need replaced, but otherwise, totally satisfied.
I do have 1 irratating problem maybe someone could help me with.
I'm getting a "brake lt circuit" light on my panel, checked my
brack lights and they all look good. Any advice?

I never seem that before. I have an 95 540i. Ever since I had it, I have replaced almost 6 brake light relay. Don't even ask how many brake light I gone thru. Just picture a dude in an Auto Part store asking for a "Bulk Rate" on brake lights.

Yes, it seems to stay on all the time. Is there a way to remove the warning? I
know there is some check control maneuvers I can make, is that where I should
start?

Every once in a while, when the humidity is real high, as it is in Mississippi, I get a tail light failure message on the computer. I replaced the bulbs, several time, seems to be the moisture in my case as it clears up when it gets hotter in the day. Might be a bulb problem also, BMW's are pickey on bulb replacement. Check the contacts also, try some dielectric grease on them and make sure they are clean. Rubbing alcohol and a Q tip can clean them well. Hope this helps.[;)]

Might be a bad brake light circuit, heard this is a common fail point on the BMW. Might want to look at this also. Just throwing one out there to you. Never had it happen to me but have read about it alot. Hope this helps.[thumb]

Its an 8 dollar piece you can pick up at the dealer, it doesnt really do anything but make that error msg, you replace it under the steering wheel, but leaving it wont harm anything..
