Hello all. I just bought my first 1987 bmw 325e. It had right front body damage but I found an 88 and stripped it for parts. The car should be on the road for my birthday on the 28th of Dec.
I was also curious if there is a club in Mass to hook up with? Any info would be greatly appreciated. I know I will be able to use the board to gather alot of info on my new toy.
Are these cars governed and at what speed. I hate surprises that is why I asked. My 93 Mazda MX6 was governed at 118mph. That is not fun.
Thanks again... Joe [cheers]

I tried answering your question about the governor in you other post. (actually a rev limiter which isn't set by speed but by RPM).

Even if it were limited at 115mph - it's still going to be more fun than an MX6. If you need ANY parts let me know and I'll make sure they will work with your car.

If you want to join a car club try the bmw car club of america. They should have a local chapter your way. The website is www.bmwcca.org. The membership is $40 a year, but you get an awsome magazine, excellent tech support, local buddies, and a 10% discount at most dealers. If you want to make the car go faster and rev higher just get a performance chip.

Thanks guys. The MX6 was fun but I know the Bimmer will be better. I only paid 500.00 for the bimmer and 100.00 for all the parts I could strip off the 88 bimmer. Thanks for the info on the bmw club.

The 325e has the eta engine created for the american market during the fuel crisis, and so does not have the performance of the 325i. If the 88 has a 325i engine, you could talk to a mechanic about mating the two to get around the eta engins defficiencies. Even if you can't congrats on buying a great car.
