Hi all,im now bimmer crazy [?|],was looking for a bmw forum and thought this was very good.
We sold our old '98 MB C-230 so we wanted something more luxurious
Just today my father got a 2002 530i with the premium sport package, black on black,46,000 mileage, for 39,500 USD .The difference between them is just amazing, stability and performance are great,i reached 110mph and tought i was doing 70-80.

Was this a great buy?Any recommedations for "soft modding it"(not rice it up but make it look a "little" bit cooler) like spoilers or something?Any things i should be awared of,like some problems it may give ?

Its just like the one in the photo but black, same wheels.

Welcome to BMWBoard. I would not pit a spoiler on that car, she is beautiful! The only thing I would do to her is some sport springs and shocks! Nice car I love that silver.....

Welcome aboard and congrats on the new purchase. I'd say a subtle M5 spoiler would look good.

The 3.0 Liter straight six is a proven engine so you shouldn't worry about any reliability issues or problems.

$39k for a '02 is a little high, but it may be the right price since you are located in PR. Did you buy it privately or CPO from a deaker?

check carsdirect.com for prices in your area. I remember hearing PR prices are much different than the mainland. Plus, depending where you are in the states, you can get a better discount in some places more than others.

Yeah, I wouldn't put much of a spoiler on the 5 series. It's so beautiful stock. A lip spoiler at most. At most, I'd put clear corners on the car. If they have them, then the Silvervision bulbs (silver look when off to blend in, yellow when turned on... no "egg yolk" effect and still legal).

Ohh, I like black cars too! I had a black 750iL and currently own a black M roadster. I have Dinan suspension and Koni adjustables on the roadster. There are many others you can use. Dinan has a big sale in the winter with up to 40% off.

Very nice find. I myself would only add a M5 spoiler and clear corners. For performance, I would start with some suspension upgrades (Eibach, Koni, Bilstein, SACHS) and intake (ECIS, Conforti, BenFer, Dinan, GruppeM).

If you dont want to stiffen the car up too much go with a set of Bilstien HD shocks. They should work great with the 5 series. A conforti chip would be a good mod also. If you want a louder and more free flowing exhaust look at Supersprint. Don't under estimate the importantance of a set of good tires either! Check out www.bmpdesign.com , www.bavauto.com , and www.tirerack.com for some cool parts.
