Missing Options

I ordered an '04 through my dealer. When I finally received the production number from him and checked the status on BMWUSA's Owners' Circle site, I discovered that the car has already been produced and is awaiting shipment. However, one of the options I ordered was omitted (probably a dealer error). Does anyone know if the factory can install the heated front seats option after the car has been built? Or, will the dealer have to put in a new order?

Welcome Weimrnr. I do not know for sure, but I think the dealer is going to have to re-order. Have you talked to them about it? When I ordered my first roadster somehow it came with three options that I did not order? Needless to say I got some nice options for free! Let us know what happens.

Thanks. The dealer just phoned after I posted. The dealer says that someone at BMW dropped that option from the order. He has the initials of whoever dropped it and no one at BMW can explain what happened. ("New computer system glitch.") The dealer DID have to reorder it. I wish I had YOUR luck!
