Look what I saw this weekend!

My girlfriend and myself along with a couple of friends went to an Amusement park this weekend called "Europapark". There is a roller coaster there called the "Silver Star" that is sponsored my Mercedes Benz(check out the video here: http://www.clickmagique.com/Pics/Externals/Germany/EuropaPark/SilverStar.shtml

Every year they bring one of their marquee cars there for display and have all kinds of technical displays and demos running in the building that houses the line for the coaster. The first year it was a DTM CLK. Last year it was Kimi Raikonnen's Formula 1 car and this year it was a SLR Mclaren! Pretty cool stuff to say the least.....they even have a cut away bare bones frame of the car to show all of the carbon fiber components in the frame....

No my buddy wasnt really a car guy and I had beg him to take these pics(I friggin' forgot my camera......doh!) I am supposed to go again later this summer...hopefully it will still be on display then...

I got to sit in that beast, nothing special, plasticy interior, mercedes should be shunned for charging 450k with an interior lower quality than a SL65.. Brushed alluminum and painted plastic all over.

I saw one about a year ago at a Huskey truck stop... and yes, it's fast as hell, and yes, it truly is ugly. I'm not sure if they could have made the nose any longer! But still, I haven't seen one since. I did get to see a new M5 a couple weeks ago. Here's a tip; Don't egg on a guy in an M5 unless you don't want to see it any more. OMFG is that thing fast! He got sick of looking at me in his rear view mirror, and then he was gone.

i dunno, i love the way it looks. i agree with the interior though. a complete let down, lets hope the facelift sorts that out...

Well from the side and the rear the thing looks like a beast....it is the front end that just doesnt do it for me. I wish I had gotten a picture of the cutaway of it so you could see all the carbon fiber in the frame....that was almost prettier than the actual car! The coaster kicks ass too!(The tallest one in Europe)
