a while back in March 2003 i met the engineer of AEM here on this board , he asked if someone would mind loaning their car for 2 weeks out here in the "socal" so they can use it to design a CAI for the E46 328i. I emailed the guy and told him i wouldnt mind, so they accepted to use my car. A few months later here it is , it came out in european car mag,I just thought i share the article : )

yea i got one for my self, and i asked for a second kit for my friends car and they gave it to me also, i posted a pic of the intake installed in in my car a while back, ill try to get some new ones up

well what can i say Tom, i got it for free ,it definitly sounds great i cant complaint, i can feel a lil increase in performance although not major (well we know a CAI just helps you get more air and thats it) im happy with it i think its running around $200. retail im not to sure, but its worth the money . according to the engineer it gains 10 whp at hwy speeds "not bad at all", i like how its set to pick up air from the front bumper where the brake cooler is(air duct) there is no restriction at all , you get perfect air flow.

that's a pretty sweet deal, but y did aem design it so poorly? they made it a
"cold-air" by routing it down into the fender well, but as you can see in this pic

that there is a stock plastic air router thingy..they could at least remove that or utilize it
