Too Many.

If that's your price range, look on ebay, cars.com, autotrader or many other places. You can find a 92-95 325 for around that price with around 100k miles.

It seems like a high price for a car with so many problems to fix, it's not like the radio doesn't work or something, there are some pretty significant things that have gone wrong with it. Keep searching.

If you love the car you might as well offer him $2,850.00 and you can decide a buying price during negotiations.

There is no shame in a low offer.

High miles don't scare me if the car has had a good maintenance record. I would ask for records.

It seems as though a lot has been done to the car.

Will this be your daily driver, or a project car?

Yes that would be my thought too. Low ball him because you need a lot of bucks to fix this car but for about $2500 you would have some room to play.
Remember parts are not cheap.
