IDrive and Ipod

Hello - I am about to buy my first BMW a 650 convertible. I have heard several stories about the ability to hook up my Ipod to the Idrive and operate it through the Idrive system. Has anyone had any experience? Does anyone know about this? I can't seem to get a straight answer from my prospective dealer.

No. Not yet. You're stuck using the auxiliary plug. Maybe later, but I dunno if it would be possible to retrofit the capability. There are rumors that they're working on it, but I wouldn't hold your breath.
