I just purchased a 2002 330i from Carmax (a southeastern auto supermarket type store). I did a Carfax search on it and everything looks good. It was a lease car by BMW Finance in Florida and only has 17,000 miles on it.

It is certainly a whole lot more fun to drive than my Volvo was. (Obviously [;)] )

Is there anyway to find out what service has been done on it, what recalls have been applied and what options it came with? Carmax doesn't provide that level of information. Can a BMW dealer look any of that up for me (and would they)? The little button on the trunk lid say it is prewired for several things and that it has a BMW universal garage door opener, but I can't find it.

Sorry if these may be obvious questions, but this is my first BMW and I just happened on the bmwboard.

The garage door opener is those buttons on the ceiling above the rear-view mirror and you have to program them for your garage door. With our 2002 325, it was an option that we had the dealer install. I'm not sure if it was an option or standard in the 330.
