How many BMW Major services are required and cost?

I am looking at buying a used bimmer but I want to be sure I don't buy a car right before a major service (or at least I would require a discount).

At what mileage point are major services required and how much do they generally cost? To narrow your responses, I'm particularly looking at year 2000 and 2001 bimmers.

they're usually very reliable and don't have that many problems, major service in my opinion is only needed every 30,000-35,000 miles, at least that is how we go with the major services, by the way how many miles are you thinking on the car

I'm thinking about anything from 80k to 100k. Year 2000 with around 100k.
