I have just recently purchased an immmaculate 1989 316i coupe with only 48k miles on the clock.
Could anybody please advise how you remove the existing gear knob as I intend fitting a customised gear knob ?
I know with most Italian cars that all that is required is brute force to pull the gear knob of the shift stock.
I do not want to try this on the BMW for fear of causing damage to the shift stick.
Thanks,
Jason.
