[thumb]Has anyone converted to FFV (Flex Fuel Vehicle) to burn Ethanol (E-85 or E-100) ?
Why would anyone do that? It's a BMW not a Chevrolet. Besides, E-85 is very hard to find unless you live in Kansas or Iowa or Southern Illinois??, and would result in dismal gas mileage. Ethanol is just government subsidized corn processed in a government subsidized plant, and transported and sold through government subsidized discounted pricing. It also gets roughly 20% less MPG, if your Chevy suburban flexi fuel vehicle got 13mpg in the hilly rural mix it now gets 10mpg. If a BMW got 30mpg on the highway, with the ethanol it would only pull 24mpg. I think I'd stick to gas, it's enough they do a 10% blend.

Also, out of curiosity, how much does that cost anyway? I'm betting it would void the warranty and probably run at least $1,000 and up. As for the older BMWs, correct me if I'm wrong, but don't they already get great gas mileage?
