Comments/ suggestions for Newbie

Just bought a 2001 325i with sports, HK, and premium package upgrades. I bought in online from a dealer, so I have not gotten a chance to see or drive it yet. I was wondering if anyone out there has driven one like mine and could tell me how you like it. In particular, how it drives, how does the Harman Kardon sound system sound, and reliability/repair issues. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks.

Since you're on a BMW board, you're gonna hear a lot of "I love it" type comments. You won't truly understand til you drive it yourself and spontaneously say, "I love it."

By the way, clean car and congrats.

first of all congrats on the car, sports package is awesome and so is premium, dont worry as soon as you get the car you'll doe exactly as codex57 said and say "i love it"

(Have clean shorts on, and good dark sunglasses. Can't let anyone else see how big your eyes get once you drive it). Plan to have that feeling forever.

No problem whatsoever experienced so far, purchased last November. There are numerous 'things' you can check or have examined once you receive the car, don't get me wrong, especially if you do not have a warranty or a CPO car. Find a good shop and have it run through and checked out top to bottom, if you're not getting any sort of warranty, it might be a good idea to get a Inspection I or II done just to ease your mind.

Yes I bought it used without inspecting it or test driving it. But I bought it from a reputable dealer and I have purchased a 3 year warranty. I thought that was enough piece of mind for me. Thanks to everyone who posted. Still haven't heard anything about the Harman Kardon sound system. Anybody with any thoughts?

I can hear a difference, but sure not worth the $1000 or whatever it costs. Just sounds like added bass, but not very good bass.

A friend of mine has the HK system in his BMW... its not the same year as yours but it sounds very nice IMO. I have no reason to think you'll be dissapointed with it!

BTW congrats on the ride, looks real nice!
