Cd Changer for 99 328is

Hi everyone!! I am a first time bmw owner and am trying to get a cd changer for my 99 328is. The car did have the cd changer in the trunk when it was purchased but somewhere along the way it has been removed. My question is how do I find out what type of changer was installed. I called BMW and they can't tell me by the VIN number so I where do I go from here? I have the part number off of the wiring but don't know really how to match it up. The guy I bought the car from said I need to find out the type of changer it is so I don't have to replace the wiring. I really thought any cd changer would work...haha. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the wiring is factory you can buy the genuine BMW cd changer that can be found at BavAuto.com. They have the specific model that should work in your car, they also have this aftermarket unit that supposably will work with factory wiring and is cheaper.
