I was wondering if anyone has run into my type of issue......I bought new Conti's for my 2000 328Ci, and had them balanced and mounted. After I got that done everytime as I'm driving in the morning the steering wheel starts shimmying at speeds of about 30-45 mph and goes away. I took the car into the dealership and they checked everything and they can't reproduce the problem, where I experience it everyday at one point or another. So I'm confused on what to do.......???? I was discussing a problem like that in my car - This only happened to me in the morning. It could be that when you car sits all night, it develops a temporary flat spot. When the tires warm up, the tires expand and the flat spot goes away. So it only happens in the morning or when the car has been sitting for a while.

My only guess is that with high performance tires, the rubber is softer, so flat spots are more likely. I don't think it's anything to worry about. It has happened with both sets of tires I have had on my 528i, less so with my Dunlops than with my last set of tires.
