Buying a 95 525i, What should I check on it?

Hi there, I am buying an e34 with 113k on it. I am taking it to a mechanic to have it checked out. What else should I do and look for.

Good call on the mechanic. He will check everything out for you and let you know of any current or potential (future) problems with the car. Checkout the exterior and the interior for yourself, thoroughly. See if you're satisfied with its condition and that the way it runs, satisfies you. It also wouldn't hurt to check to get a CarFAX on the car (based on VIN #). Good luck.

My aunt and a friend of hers both have 1995 5 series, One is a 525i and the other a 540i. They are both mechanical and electrical nightmares. Make sure your mechanic is really, really good with older BMWS.

I would hate to see you go through the same problems (expenisve problems) as they have been going through since day 1...back in 1995...maybe consider a newer 5 series at least 1998 or newer...much, much more reliable. Unlike Mercedes, BMW has not always built great cars!!!!!
