Oops, posted this in another forum too...
Noob here. Will do some searching, but have some general questions about buying a used BMW and the pros and cons to it. Since there seems to be a lot of knowledge around here, I figured this was the place to come.
I set out in my used car search looking for another Honda. My wife drives around 800-1,000km per week, so we are looking for something used that will go up to the several hundred thousand mile mark (my accord just went 400,000km). Was going to
In my search, I was fooling around and found that I can buy a BMW with the same or less km for roughly the same price.
I am thinking about buying a 1994 BMW 325IS coupe.
It is loaded. Power everything leather, sunroof, 2.56cyl, ect. ect.
Has 128,000km on it.
1) What kind of life expectancy can I expect? Will it go 400,000k like a Honda?
2) With this engine, what can I expect per tank or miles per gallon?
3) Are they reliable or as the miles get higher the repairs?
4) Is it really more expensive to get these cars repaired than other, or is that an urban legened? I had heard the same about Honda, but my Ford was more expensive to fix than my 94 Accord.
thanks for your time...
