bimmer vs beemer which is right?

i like to use some varient of bimmer, or beemer rather than "bmw" but what's the right way of saying it? or is it just personal pref? just curiuos..

According to BMW CCA, a Bimmer is a car. A Beemer is a motorcycle.

Last week, I drove past a "pre-owned" independent dealer in So. Cal. who specialized exclusively in BMW cars. As I recall it was on Santa Monica Blvd. (or maybe Wilshire near there). He had a huge sign advertising "BEEMERS".

Where I live it seems as though bikes and cars are both called Beemers. Whenever I say Bimmer to anyone, they say "Oh, you mean a Beemer?"

It is my car so I call it what ever the hell I want to....LOL....sometimes it has a girls name, sometimes it is a BMW, sometimes it is called a "Beamer"....I spelled it the way I have pronounced it since the 80's, sometimes I call it foul names.....but some times the care curses back at me in German.

I believe that people that constantly and firmly always make an effort to call their car a Bimmer, Beemer, or make it known in any other way that it is a BMW are compensating for something. Car is so much easier.

I think the slang term Bimmer came from the way the Germans pronounce the b m w letters, if you slurr it or shorten it, it comes to bimmer.
As americans, we stress the b in bmw at which it turns to beemer.

And yet i have noticed the differences with the car and cycle slang, but i still think its a pronounciation thing.
