Advice on 2006 325xi quality

Hi folks,

I am new to this forum and in search of a good, safe and reliable all wheel drive car. Since you folks are the experts on BMW I would like your opinion on the new 2006 325xi regarding all the above values I am looking for. Any and all advice will be appreciated.

P.S. I am also looking at Infinity G35 coupe with all wheel drive. How is BMW compare with it in all the areas of my interest? Regards.

I have heard nothing but good about the 325xi. I have driven an older e30 x model and it handled well. I know nothing about the G35. PS Welcome to the board!

Big Daddy, Thanks for responding and welcoming me. I have read some posts that last all wheel drive model of 325 was more prone to repairs. I would like to know if this new 2006 325xi all wheel drive along with rest of the parts needs less repairs than past and is as reliable as Toyota or Infinity.

I hate making trips to get things fixed on new and expensive cars.

I am not quite sure what mechanical improvements have been made, however I believe they are pretty soild. Maybe someone else will see your post and chime in here?

I had an E46 325xi and had no problems. I now have an E90 325xi and I have about 5,000 KM of trouble free driving so far. Other than the stupid oil level detector.

Seems all the e90's are having a problem with the oil level sensor. Pretty minor in the grand scheme of things though. Do you like the awd aspects of it?

Yes, I like the AWD aspect of it. I will be using it in Philadelphia and like to AWD aspect of it for the snow/wet times.

This is good to know that it is well built and doesn't make too many trips to the garage.
