Ok so it was time to replace my 99 M3 convertible's battery. I browsed through previous messages here on another bmw board and several posters suggested that they had gone with Diehard International Group 48 battery.
Well, I brought home the same today and tried installing it.

Well, this battery is shorter than the stock and so I cant make the positive cable reach the +ive node on the battery. If I slide the battery toward the positive cable, then I cant tie it down with the nut/screw since the nut/screw hole is on the -ive side (on the battery pan) of the battery.

What is my option here? I guess I can try Interstate MTP-91 with a vent kit or something?

Thanks in advance...

Thanks guys, went with Douglas..

Thanks guys for your posts. After trying the Interstate MTP-91 as well, I think I can safely say that for the 99 M3 Convertible at least, neither MTP-91 or Sears Diehard International Group 48 will work.

I finally found a Douglas-made Group 92 (same size as BMW OEM stock battery- BMW uses Douglas-supplied batteries on their cars) with slightly higher CCA from Batteries Plus installed for $112 including tax and everything.

I am happy after all...didnt have to pay the dealer $250+....
Also managed to get the radio code from the dealer for free....
