I recently picked up an '87 325is, and the backlight for the OBC (next to the radio) doesn't work. If you block the light from the screen, you can see that the LED is working (barely), but with any light on the screen, you can't see anything, and you can't see it at night. The OBC seems to work okay, though.
A local BMW mechanic said that the backlight was out and sold me a $28 circuit board with tiny bulbs on it, but I can't figure out how to replace it. Anybody out there know if that's what the problem is? If so, how do you replace the bulb/circuit board?
