Just bought a 1994 745 iL with 85K on the clock and am enjoying it! But, the AC doesn't get cold - it definitely cools but not cold. Does it take R 134A refrigerant?
Also, when I "unclick" the snow symbol (A/C) and the circular sysmbol (Recirculation?) to get it to blow just vent air it does but HOT air blows out of the defrost vent at the same time. Very strange - I didn't notice it until after I bought it - cool night air is blowing out of the main vents, the wheel in the middle of the vent is turned to the blue not red, and it is blowing HOT air at the same time out of the defrost. Not the main vents - they are blowing air at air temperature but the defrost is hot.
side note: when running AC with snow symbol and circular symbol engaged, flow on auto, temp control to coolest - it cools (not cold) and no hot air blowing out of the defroster vent - this only happens when I am trying to get it to blow just vented air.
I read on here somewhere the same thing and someone suggested moving the wheel to blue not red (I definitely have it on blue). The guy with the problem seemed to think it was a vacuum problem but didn't know and never posted his results.
Any suggestions?
