1999 328i Question

ok i just bought a used 1999 328i and on the rearview mirror it has a wierd round red light coming off it. what is it? I have it and it does nothing. is it sapos to light up?

That is the "clown nose" and part of the alarm system.

i have that also, but it does nothing unless u paid for and activated the oem alarm system. the 3-series are all pre-wired with the alarm and other add-ons. so, you'll find knobs on the steering wheel for cell phones etc. but, none of those work unless u paid for the options.

cool, thanks guys. would anyone have a good suggestion for a cold air intake? AEM or INJEN?
